Taste the Buzz

Javits Center

The Javits Center is truly where the buzz begins – thanks to our annual honey harvest! Led by our Sustainability team, staff members care for the five hives on our nearly 7-acre green roof and work with our chefs to incorporate the honey into the meals and beverages we serve customers. Each year, our employees volunteer to harvest and bottle the honey – called Jacob’s Honey after our namesake – and distribute it to visitors from around the world. It’s all part of our robust sustainability program that has reduced the building’s energy consumption, created a rooftop wildlife habitat and facilitated the donation of event-related materials to non-profit groups across the New York region.
